Bees can show up just about any time and any place. The big question, of course, is are they gonna be aggressive? The problem is that there's no way to tell the nasty Africanized Bees from the calmer and much nicer European Honey Bees - except for their demeanor. There's nothing physically different between them that is visible to the naked eye. As such you're rolling the dice any time you deal with bees and sometimes that can put folks in a bad position.

So - how do you get rid of bees? First, get lots of Bee Control Info. And then be honest with yourself about both the bee problem and your ability to get rid of bees. You may need professional help with bees. I say that because, when it comes to bee control, it really is the most prudent advice I can give folks. That said, the actual bee removal technique(s) used will be based on a few different criteria, including - but not limited to - the following:

• Are the bees located in a spot where they are posing a danger to people or animals? If so, whatever you decide to do needs to be done ASAP. And that may be a great reason to call out a professional.
• Are the bees up high - on the side of a 2-story house or in a tree or a sign? If so, access is something that has to be considered. Take my word for it: being 30+ feet up in the air is less fun when completely covered with bees that have a bad attitude. Going after bees that are up high without the proper training and the proper gear (including a bee suit) is just not a smart thing to do. Make sure you are truly prepared if you decide to handle this type of bee problem yourself.
• How long have the bees been there? If they've just shown up, and they are NOT POSING A DANGER to people or animals, wait 36 hours before doing anything. When bees swarm, the new queen is looking for a suitable place to set up shop. During the swarm she may get tired and just stop to take a break. Of course all of her companions will stay with her and protect her and form what you see: a clump of bees where ever she lands including on a tree, wall, bush or whatever. If they are still there after 36-48 hours, you'll likely need bee control.
• Are the bees that you are having a problem with hanging around flowers or any kind of plants? If so, and it's not a swarm or hive, they are just there for the nectar. DO NOT spray the plants to keep the bees under control. What happens when folks do that is that the bees can get exposed to the pesticides and carry them back to the hive, killing many or all of the bees in that hive. Those same pesticides can kill just about any critters that visit those plants including a variety of beneficial pests. We need the bees - and most of the other critters, too. If it's a real problem, don't position flowering plants in places where bee activity is a problem for people or pets. And if moving the plant isn't possible, cut the buds off before blooming. That will greatly reduce bee activity at that location without the negative effects associated with pesticides.

So - in case you missed it in this article - I really recommend arming yourself with lots of DIY Bee Control info before tackling bees on your own..
